GIRL GUIDE COMPANY ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The annual general meeting of the parents and those interested in the local company of Girl Guides was held in the Anglican Sunday .School room on Tuesday, Aliss Dcighton, of Marton, presiding. Also present were: Mesdamcs J. AL Abel (secret ry), R. A. Gordon, E. 11. Adkins, Craig and Aliss Earle. Apologies were received from Mesdanies T. V. L. Powell (president), W. Wilson and C. J. Powell. The balance sheet was read and adopted. Election of Officers. President, Airs T. U. L. Powell; seccrctary and treasurer, Airs J. AL Abel; committee, Ale-dames Abel, Craig, Adkins, Weston, J. Howie, S. AlcAlley, C. J. Powell, and Aliss Earle. It was decided to ask Aliss Hughes to pass Guide for class badges. A discussion took place on the work of the Guides and it was decided that the Guides should b encouraged to render service whenever possible, members >f the committee to notify of any cases where the girls could be of assistance. WEDDING PULLENGER—BLACKETT A very pretty wedding was solemnise lin tho Gospel -11, Hunterville, on Tuesday, Tuno 23, the contracting parties being Mi: s Grace Blacket., of tlio Children’s Home, Hunterville, second daughter of Air Blackett, Kiu Kiu, and Air William John, second son of Air and Mrs R. Pullenger, - Hunterville. Air H. Isaac, of 'anganui, conduct; ed the ceremony. Tho bride looked very pretty as shu entered tho 1 ” on t! e arm of her uncle, Air Rickard, of Hamilton. She was attired in a frock of creme georgette, trimmed with pearls and effective bows fasten to shoulder and waist with brilliant buckles. The v ,il was daintly arrang with a corone of orange blossom. Creme stockings and satin shoes also a shower bouquet of pink and vhite carnations and fern completed the charming toilet. In attendance, was the bridesmaid, Aliss Phyllis Hyde, who wore a handsome apricot georgette frock, and felt hat trimmed with apricot satin ribbon to tone. The bridesmaid also carried a pretty bouquet of chrysanthemums, carnations, am. fern. The little flower girl, Vera McDonald, carried a basket of flowers and looked pretty dressed in pak pink crepe de chine, with a head band to match. Afr J. Chapman, of Wellington, friend of the bridegroom, ably carried out the duties of best man.

The reception was hel ’ at the Children’s Homo where a number of guests wero welcomed by Afr and Mrs Hyde. The bride and bridegroom were tho happy recipients of many useful and v ’uable presents. Afr and Afrs J. Pullenger left midst showers of confetti for Wellington, tho bride travelling in a wine coloured wool crepe de chine frock, with hat, shoes and stockings to tone.
