ENGLISH INNS
A millionaire “tooth-paste king” from New York and two former rumrunners aro secretly spending thousands of pounds on old English publiehouses. They have already bought 63 small inns for £63,000 within 150 miles of London, and their aim is to trans form them into “super road houses” under American management. The new syndicate is called the New York Trust Incorporated. Some of the inns already bought are at Bournemouth, Arundel, Northampton, Margate, Penartb, Canterbury and Eastbourne. That is only the beginning. The syndicate N prepared to spend £500,000. The old landlords will s(a.\ - [with travelling American supervisors ‘paying them frequent visits.
