TE KAWAU RUGBY SUB-UNION. The only games played on Saturday were the school games. The local com-; bined team played Oroua Downs-Tai-korea, at Oroua Downs, and scored a runaway victory by 84 points to nil. C. Millin crossed 14 times, L. Andrew with 1 three and E. Forbes one were the other scorers. L. Andrew converted 15 of the tries. Most of the local Rugby fans were ai. Palmerston North to see the North v. South trial game. The gani3 was in many respects disappointing and the powers that control the game would get a better idea of the strength of the country players if it had been OrouaTe Kawau v. Manawatu. The winning team had only six country representatives, the balance being Feilding players. As an attraction to the show it could not be considered a success. The annual fixture, Oroua v. Te Kawau. played at the show grounds, provided an interesting game. The Tckawau back combination was too fast for their opponents, but the Oroua forward more than held their own. MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. The usual practise shoot was held on Monday night. There were a good number present. Following are the scores:—
