WANGANUI AFFAIRS METROPOLITAN UNION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. At tho weekly meeting of the management committee of tho Wanganui Metropolitan Rugby Union last night there were presect Messrs J. Moye (chairman), C. S. Swan, J. Crowley, A. Takarangi, A. Lockett, R. C. Hamilton, W. H. Gill, A. Danielson and E. A. Mills. A player ordered off in a fourth* grade match last Saturday was cautioned. A letter from the Ratana Club regarding the condition of the ground at Ratana was received. An application for permission to play for Ratana was received from a player residing on the Wangaehu side of the Turakina River and was granted. Technical Old Boys’ Club notified that owing to injuries and other reasons they would not be able to field a B team in the third grade competition, and they therefore asked permission to withdraw the team. This was granted, and with regard to the application for the transfer of the players it was decided that Technical Old Boys be requested to supply a list of those affected. The application of Technical Old Boys for tho reclassification of B. L. Roberts was referred to the classification committee. It was notified that finality had not as yet been reached with regard to tho fixing of a date for the match between Wanganui and Manawhenua at Palmerston North. The treasurer reported that a “gate” of a little over £4O had been obtained last Saturday. In suggesting that congratulations be extended to the Ratana Club on the improvement shown in tho control of matches at Ratana, the chairman expressed tho opinion that representatives of the Ratana Club could be invited to confer with the union with a view to the provision of showers and dressingroom accommodation at Ratana, the union being desirous of assisting in this direction. Clubs would, he felt sure, co-operate in this direction. Tho suggestion met with the approval of members.
