A GIFT TO NAPIER. (Per Press Association.| NAPIER, June 22. A handsome grandfather clock is to be presented to Napier the Governor and Lady Bledisloe. Tho movement of the timepiece will be tho product of British workmanship and the caso will be of Now Zealand woods. Arrangements have been made by Lord Blcdisloe for its early delivery. Their Excellencies left by the Wellington express train this morning. During the week-end the party was much interested in Napier’s shopping centre, where they made some purchases. VISIT TO WAIROA. I Per Press Association. ] WARIOA, June 22. Tho Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe made their first visit to this district on Saturday afternoon, receiving an enthusiastic reception it a short civic welcome. The Vice-Regal party stayed for two hours, afterwards continuing their journey to Napier.
