Roy was kennelled outside the house, and when the tiro broke out lie squeezed through a small opening into the scullery and made his way to his owners’ bedroom door. Aroused by Roy ’s barking and scratching, Mr and Mrs Smith awoke to find the house a roaring furnace, and escaped with only a few seconds to spare.
