BULLS

RUGBY FOOTBALL i On Saturday Bulls and Marton Old Boys will meet on Bulls Domain, both 1 seniors and fourth being engaged. The e senior fifteen will not be up to full J strength, several members being absent t this week, and their places will be , taken by juniors. Our fourth grade i team is a promising combination of ; young players, and they should give a good account of themselves. Counter attractions affected the attendance at Wednesday’s junior game played here between Ohingaiti and I Bulls. Neither team was up to full, strength, and the standard of football I was not high. Bulls won by 11 points to 6, and the scores appeared to be a fair indication of the merits of the opposing fifteens. Bulls kicked off with a strong easterly wind at their backs, and their forwards soon set up an attack, the ball being dribbled through to Ohingaiti's line, where Beran scored in a good position for Ransom to convert, Bulls 5, Ohingaiti 0. The visitors then warmed up, their forwards break-

ing through to let W. Lynch score wide out. R. Bartlett failed to improve, Ohingaiti 3, Bulls 5. A period of desultory play followed, but just before half-time Beran again scored from a forward rush. Ransom failed, and the teams changed round with the scores, Bulls 8, Ohingaiti 3. The second spell commenced with up and down field play, forwards of both sides playing up well. Ohingaiti were awarded a “free," and R. Bartlett found the posts with a good kick. Ohingaiti 6, Bulls 8. Bulls forwards then placed the result beyond doubt by dribbling through, and Ransom joined in and scored. His kick at goal was “washed out," and the game ended, Bulls 11, Ohingaiti 6. Mr E. Westwood refereed. OLD SCOUTS’ REUNION This evening members of tho Bulls Troop Old Scouts' Association will hold their third annual dinner and reunion in the Town Hall supper room. The function will commence at 6 p.m., and a dance will follow dinner. All members of the troop are cordially invited to attend. HOCKEY Bulls Hockey Club sent a team to Halcombe to play Athletics on Wednesday, and Bulls players returned somewhat crest-fallen, tho scores of the match being, Athletic 9, Bulls 0. The ground was very muddy, and while Bulls players could not handle the conditions, Halcombe ladies seemed to revel in the mud. THE PICTURES On Saturday night “It’s a Great Life" will be screened at Bulls Town Hall. This is a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer' talking and singing production, featuring the Duncan Sisters, and introducing big song hits; spectacular ensembles and technicolour sequences. “It's a Great Life" is said to be one of the year’s greatest pictures.
