THE COREOPSIS
LONG-CONTINUED BLOOMS. I 'l’hc Coreopsis grandiflora, a perennial I species, and a native of the United States, produces a profuse and long-con-tinued succession of large bold goldenyellow flowers for a long period, and is one of the most prized and useful flow ors for table decoration. Although this is a perennial, plants can easily be raised from seeds to flower the same season. Seedlings usually come up around the flowering plants and provide a plcnti ful supply of plants for a continuous succession. i The coreopsis is very hardy and most ? suitable for present planting in the mixed border, either singly or in clumps. Allow ample distance between each plant, as a flowering plant occupies considerable space.
