ATTRACTIVE TREE
RHUS SUCCEDAN EA. Among the many trees and shrubs tha* adorn private gardens and grounds and public parks at this season of the year with their various tints and lines of their mature ami ripening foliage, Rhus suceedanea, the Chinese wax tree, is the most attractive of all. With the gorgeous colouring of its brilliant scarlet and yellow foliage, this small tree stands alone and may be singled out as the best for its glorious autumn leafage. The loaves after turning colour hang on for a long time before finally falling. The tree is much esteemed for decorative purposes, but must be carefully handled, as with some people it pro duces a painful inflammation. Others are able to handle the with impunity. This hardy decidious tree should be largely planted on account of its unrivalled autumn foliage. It is one of the varieties specially adapted to local conditions.
