WEDDING

JONES—CLARKE ►St. Michael’s Anglican Church, Rau rimu, was the scene of a quiet but pretty wedding on May 7, when Fanny elder daughter of Mr and Mrs P. M Clarke, of Raurimu, was married t< Charles Cyril Jones, late of Maxwell and youngest son of the late Mr L Jones and Mrs L. Jones, Corstorphine. Midlothian, Scotland. The ceremony was performed by Rev. F. H. Germon of Taumarunui, while Mrs Gordon, ol Taurnarunui, presided at the organ. Entering the church, which had been prettily decorated for the occasion, the bride, escorted by her father, wore a beautiful corsage, long tight fitting sleeves, and a fully flared ankle-length skirt of white georgette. The veil which was of embroidered silk was held in place with clusters of orange blossom. While satin shoes and a beautiful bouquet of white chrysanthemums, carnations and maiden-hair completed the bridal ensemble. The bridesmaid, Miss Isabella Clarke (sister of the bride) was dressed in a frock ot cornflower blue crepe-de-chcne with tight-fitting corsage, flared ankle length skirt, with diamante trimming, and silk net head-dress to match. She wore silver shoes and carried a bouquet of pale pink chrysanthemums and maiden-hair fern. The bridegroom was attended byMr T. Hunter Smith, as best man. Airs Clarke (mother of the bride) was attired in a navy blue wool crepc-dc-chene frock relieved with cinnamon morocain, with hat to match, and carried a posy of autumn tints to tone. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents. Wanganui guests were Airs H. Luty, Miss Siddall, Miss I. Siddall, and Alessrs L. Roache and E. Jones, of Alax well. The happy couple were the recipients of many useful presents, and later left for Auckland where the honeymoon was spent. The bride’s travelling dress consisted of a new blue repp, ensemble, relieved with biege georgette, and with hat to tone. Air and Airs Jones’ future home will be at Utiku.
