New concrete culverts have been ■ | set on these roads by the Waimarino County Council. Relict labour has been the means of getting metalling done on the Manga lurutuna and Hoihonga roads in the; Manganui Riding. Several trouble some sections have now ben put in good order. Relief w'ork will be used to replace ■ h wooden cover on the open cut near ‘the county crusher on the Valley road I with a concrete dab. j A short section of the Upper Man I gaeturoa road has been metalled at practical I v no cost to the County Coun- " cil. e , In the Ohakune Riding banking and i reduction of dangerous corners are be 1 ing carried out by relief workers on ♦ the Waiouru road. The metal pit ie i being stripped on the Dreadnought road I in readiness for metalling between the .1 j.anrateitei road junction and xsc burnt bridge. When this is finished the county engineer proposes to topdress the Mangateitui road between IS the Rangataua road and the railway bridge. When those works are com lt pletcd Ihe engineer proposes to continue the formation of the Dreadnought l S road if the parties interested are pre c pared to provide the necessary culvert and bridge timber. Relief workers will be employed widening the narrow cuttings on the Manga whero Hill as soon as satisfactory arrangements can be made for a start.
