General siutation. — An anti-cyclone moved on to Neu Zealand on Saturday night, but pressure is again falling in the south under the influence of the first of a scrips of westerly depressions advancing from Australia. Forecast.—Winds: Northerly winds becoming strong in and south oi Cook Strait, moderate elsewhere. Seas (N.Z. water). Still a. considerable swell on the East Coast between Kaikoura and East ( apo. but moderating: otherwise smooch io moderate, but rising later in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Tasman Sea: Freshening northerly winds and moderate to rather rough seas in the eastern Tasman. Weather: For the most part line and milder but clouds increasing in Westland and the far south, and showers d^yjd*>pij>g J here lat ui. ,
