RUGBY IMPROVES

KAIERAU HELD TO A DRAW

TECHNICAL OLD BOY S SPLENDID PLAY

FOLK CAPABLE TEAMS DEVELOPING

(Bi> Technical Old Boys played Kaierau at their own game on Saturday and held them to a scoreless draw. It was a match which has won back for Wanganui .Rugby much ot its prestige that was lost last year. AH the world likes to see a tried and tested team like Kaierau up against an opposition determined to give them a run for their money. Like an inflammable torch enthusiasm spread its glow round the stand and side lines in the dying moments of this match as the lighter team held the maroon forwards at bay and gave them tit for tat. In the early match on Spriggens Park, Pirates succeeded in defeating Wanganui and Old Boys by nine points to four in a match which was not correctly represented by the scores. Out at Ratana, the natives defeated Marist by 11 points to three and thoroughly deserved their victory. Rugby has brighter days ahead in Wanganui.
