WEATHER FORECAST
General situation. —A rather intense depression is'crossing the Dominion. An anti cyclone is centred over Tasmania and will probably move northwards.
Forecast. — Winds: Moderate to strong northerly winds north of Westport and Kaikoura. elsewhere southerly and southerlies gradually becoming general and increasing to strong to gale force. Seas ( X.Z. waters): Rough south of Cape Egmont and Castle Point, elsewhere moderate to rather rough. Tasman Sea: Strong southerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea. with rather rough to rough seas. Weather: Dull and unsettled generally with some rain in most districts, and hail in places. Temperatures becoming cold.
