OBITUARY
REV. FATHER MAHONEY. (Par Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. The Rev. Father George Mahoney, formerly of Nelson, Hastings and Wanganui, died this evening in Lewisham Hospital. The late Father Alahoney was the son of the late Daniel rithoney and came out to New Zealand with his parents in 1874. He was educated at the Afarist Brothers’ School and St. Patrick’s College here. Afterwards he underwent theological training at Mcanee. Ho was ordained at Wellington in 1898. and was afterwards stationed at Nelson and later at Hastings and Wanganui. His health failing, ho retired from active ministration three years ago, since when he has resided in Wellington with his brother, the Rev. Stanislaus Mahoney, parish priest at St. Alary of the Angels, Boulcott Street. Deceased was 61 years of age.
