Air Henry Isaacs, professor on the staff of the Royal Academy of Music, London, arrived from Sydney by the Maunganui to conduct in New Zealand examinations of the Associated Board. He is to stay a fortnight in the Dominion.

Dr. Ralph Noble, of Sydney, who represented the Commonwealth at the first International Congress on Alental Hygiene, recently held at Washington, will arrive in Wellington by the Makura from San Francisco on December 15. Dr. Noble also represented the New Zealand Council of Alental Hygiene at the Conference.

Air D. H. Pullar, senior district valuer for Christchurch City, has retired on superannuation from the Valuation Department after 36 years’ service. On Saturday Mr H. L. Wiggins, officer in charge of the Valuation Department, presented Air Pullar, on behalf of the valuers and staff of the Christchurch office, with a hunting watch, and on behalf of old colleagues in the Wellington office with a case of pipes.

Air J. W. Reav, Assistant District Traffic Alanager, Wellington has retired after forty-six years in the New Zealand Railways. Joining th.c service at Wellington as a cadet in 1884, Mr Reay was subsequently stationed at Invercargill, Eketahuna, Gisborne, 'Wanganui, Auckland, Upper Hutt, and Fordell. He was appointed to the position of chief clerk, district traffic manager’s office, Greymouth', in June, 1924, and to a similar position in Invercargill in April, 1927. Mr Reay was under assistant district traffic manager, Wellington, in Alarch, .1928, which position he filled until the completion of his period of service on November 22. Prior to his departure Air Reay was met by members of the office staff and presented with some handsome tokens of the esteem in which he was held by his colleagues.
