NEW LINE ASKED FOR [ Per Press Association. J WELLINGTON. May 4. in view of the Government's decision not to have locomotives built by Price Brothers, the Prime Minister was asked by Mr Samuel to reconsider the decision in view of the Reform Party’s promise that orders for two locomotives were to be given and cancellation would mean throwing a lot of skilled men out of work. Sir Joseph Ward undertook to discuss the matter with the Railway Minister. • Rcpresentatiions were made to Sir Joseph Ward by Mr Samuel urging the construction of a line from Paeroa to Pokeno to cut off the triangle at present formed by the Hamilton-Mor-rinsville route. Sir Joseph Ward said that he would go into the matter with his colleagues and reply at as early a date as possible.
