BUILDINGS SHAKE
A TERRIFIC BUMP of rock in rand mines [ Australian Press Assn. ) (’APE TOWN, June 25. Johannesburg experienced a terrific bump at 6.38 o’clock this morning. There was a noise like an explosion, accompanied by vibrations. Big buildings shook alarmingly and people jumped out of their beds. Windows were cracked and plaster fell off the walls. The tremors were caused by falls of rock in the mines.
