THE MILLIONTH CASE CEREMONY ON WATERFRONT. i Per Preet i WELLINGTON, June 7. An interesting event on the water front to-day was the shipping by the Shaw, Savill and A’bion liner, Tamaroa of the millionth case of apples exported from tne Dominion this season. The ceremony was performed by the Minister of Agrictulture (Hon. O. J. Hawkcn). The final shipments for tho season arc being taken by the Tamaroa, Tasmania and Fort Dunedin, all of which arc to leave the Dominion on Saturday. The provincial totals of the 1928 season’s apples and pear shipments are as follow-’: —Nelson 603,270 cases, Hawke’s Bay 195,360, Otago 82,000, Auckland 66,291, Marlborough 33,044, Poverty Bay 24,259. Wairarn 'a 13,603, and Canterbury 200—total 1,018,027.
