TWEED WATERS RISE
BATHING SUITS DONNED Received April 20, 10.10 p.m. (A. & N.Z.) SYDNEY, April 20. The Alurwillumbah residential area was invaded by the Tweed River, the waters of which rose alariniingly Yesterday tho countryside for miles around was a huge lake. People have discarded ordinary suits. The incessant rain at Richmond for four days has swollen all the creeks end rivers at Richmond and Lismore, where the water is 12 feet above normal. It is still raining and many roads are blocked. Heavy rain in the northefln districts has caused the flooding of farm lands, which, following on the storm damage to the crops in February, makes the outlook for the winter gloomy.
