PLOT ARRESTED
BOLSHEVIKS IN FINLAND COMMUNIST OFFICIALS CAUGHT Received April 20, 9 p.m. (A. & N.Z.) LONDON, Ai>ril 19. The Helsingfors correspondent of the Times says that 30 Communists were arrested in Finland, including two members of the Diet, newspapermen, secretary and other officials of t».e Communist party, also the porter of th e Soviet Legislation. The police seized a quantity of Bolshevik literature printed in Russia. Some of those arrested possessed arms. A prominent Communist Al. Abel Vilhunen, who was in possession of compromising documents committed suicide by taking poison. The authorities are convinced that they have arrested an extensive Bolshevik plot. The Riga correspondent of the Times states that the Soviet has published a decree extending the Academy of Science by the inclusion of 37 institutions and 85 academal chairs. The academy is the only educational institution with which the revolutionaries have not interfered and the newspaper Izvestia declares that it is reactionary, and docs not represent the Communist ideal. The occupants of 40 of the new chairs, however, must think along Soviet lines and discard mildewed traditions.
