THROUGH NICARAGUA
A CANAL PROPOSAL BILL IN AMERICAN SENATE (A. & N.Z.) WASHINGTON, March 28 Senator McKellar has introduced a Bill for the immediate construction of the Nicaraguan Canal to run parallel to the Panama Canal and to be financed by 200,000,000 dollar 30-ycar, three per cent. Government bonds. He said that the Nicaraguan Canal would restore American prestige in Nicaragua by turning bandits into labourers.
He asked for a 10,000,000 dollar appropriation for a survey.
