Mr A. G. Bignell returned to Wan ganui from Christchurch yesterday.
Mr A. S .Burgess has returned to Wanganui very much improved in health, alter several weeks at Kawan. Mr F. E. Aloreton, of the Friends’ School, is in Wellington, attending a conference of the Howard League lor Penal Reform. A London message reports the death of Sir Charles Russell, solicitor. He was the guardian of the secrets of .half of England’s prominent social people, and acted for the Marquis of Jueensbury in the Wilde trial.
Mr Haldane Johns, who was up till recently in charge of the Vacuum Oil Company’s operations here, has returned to Wanganui, in order to develop the local interests in that branch of business on behalf of the Combined Buyers, Ltd.
A message from Detroit states that Mr Henry Ford is planning a trip abroad, which will probably incliiide
Britain and possib the Continent. Passports, which become effective on April 1, have been issued at Washington.
