A BIG PROJECT
LONG BRIDGE PLANNED JOINING EUROPE TO ASIA. (A. & N.Z.) CONSTANTINOPLE, March 28. A Hungarian company has submitted to the Turkish Government plans to join Europe anti Asia by a two-mile suspension bridge from Constantinople to the suburb of Scutari.
The bridge would be in two tiers, with a roadway above the railway, and European expresses could continue to Bagdad and Cairo. The company proposes to finance the bridge from toll charges on all sorts of traffic for several years, after which it will become the property of the Turkish Government. Construction would take from four to five years.
