DIRECTOR’S LAPSE POSITION OF TRUST ABUSED J. Per Pres? Association, j WELLINGTON, March 28. Robert Sproull Hutton Menzies, aged 48, pleaded guilty at the Magistrate’s Court to-day to the theft of £990 from the firm of Scott and Menzies in which he was a joint managing director.
Menzies had been in financial difficulties from the commencement of business in 1926, and had used the firm’s money for his own purposes by making out fictitious dockets to meet which cheques were drawn. He was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence. Bail was allowed.
