SERIES OF BURGLARIES
ARRESTS AT WHAKATANE TWO ACCUSED REMANDED [ Per Pref? 3 Association. ] WHAKATANE, March 28. Detective McLeod and Constable Cummings arrested two men—James William Shaw, aged 20, and Charles Barclay Dewar.aged 54—in connection with two burglaries which took place at the week-end at a grocery stoiv and drapery establishment respectively. Accused were brought before the Court this morning and remanded till Friday.
It is expected as a result of the arrest, two previous burglaries here will be cleared up.
