The Daily Mail’s Rome correspondent says that following a series of strenuous operations Italian colonial troops have extended the occupation of Cyrenaica to the edge of the Libyan Desert, which will bo permanently garrisoned in two places, controlling the caravan routes. The well-armed Arabs defended Tegrift to the last gasp and elsewhere 1000 horsemen resisted the Italians for several hours, leaving 300 dead. The total killed were 500 and many prisoners and much booty were captured. The Italians lost 210 killed and wounded.
