HEMP RESEARCH MEETING OF MANAWATU MILLERS [ Per Press Association. ] FOXTON, March 1. A meeting ot the Manawatu Flaxmillers Association, representing 50 per cent of the producers of the Dominion’s output of hemp, was addressed to-day by Dr. Marsden, Secretary of the Scientific and Industrial Research Board, soliciting the millers’ financial assistance in hemp research work. Some excellent specimens of hanks, bleached by research chemical methods were submitted.
The Association passed a motion agreeing to grading charges being increased up to 2s Gd to provide funds for research work and Messrs H. and A. Seifert, J. Moir and H. Greig were elected as a committee to confer with the Board re the setting up of a Flax Research Board.
