DURIE HILL RATEPAYERS
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION Alembers of the Durie Hill Ratepayers’ Association met this week, the Rev. W. Tye presiding. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs. Allpress and AfcElwain for their successful efforts in canvassing for subscriptions for membership and improvements respectively. It was reported that a vacant piece of ground at the top end of Taylor Street had been dug and planted, io potatoes prior to improvements early in the autumn. It was resolved to send letters of appreciation to the City Council for improvements recently carried out on Durie Hill and its approach; and for the improvement in the water supply since the Bastia Hill tower was itioned. Other matters were reviewed and the secretary was instructed to wait on the city engineer in connection with sever al of the most urgent.
