STUDENTS’ CONTESTS TO-NIGHT WILL BE FINAL PERFORMANCE To-night, in St. Paul’s Hall, the final stage of the annual competitions for the pupils of Mj and Mrs J. William Bailey will be reached. Last evening there was a largo attendance at the third of the series of performances. ’The classical duologue, attracted considerably attention and the ladies’ own selection was full of interest. Four other adult and one children’s section added variety to the entertainment. As on the previous occasions, the platings wore made on the vote of the audience. Results arc:— Adults’ selection (for competitors who had not won previously).—Mrs J. Barney, “Teddy Bear,” 1; Miss Roma Friend, “Back to Lorraine,’’ 2; Miss Nancy Warren, “My Little Rosa.,” 3. Also competed:—Mrs McDonald, Miss Gladys Jones, Miss Gwen Trott, and Miss Edna Algar. Humorous Character (children). —Jim Scott, ‘‘ V illage Y okel, ” J; Evelyn Gould, “The Burglar,” 2; Bernice Williamson, “Dish Washing,” 3. Also competed: Betty Dawson. Ladies’ Monologue.—Airs T. L. Sperring, “My Little Rosa,” 1; Miss Catherine Stone, “The Road,” and Airs J. Barney, “Old Chap,” 2; Miss Edyth McNaught, “Dream Ring of the Desert,” 4. Also competed: Miss Nancy Warren, Mrs G. L. Daxbyshire, Miss Maud Dalziell, and. Miss Gwen Trott.
