GENERAL NEWS. [ Special “ Chronicle ” Service. ] A Plunket meeting was held on Thursday and was well attended. Nurse Gray has resumed her duties, Nurse Hight having relieved. Nurse Hight’s report was very satisfactory, with several new babies on the list, and several new members were enrolled. Feeling reference was made to the society’s great loss, the late Mrs. L. Weston, she being vice-president, and an active member. Mrs. Graham and Afrs. Watson were appointed nurses’ visitors for the month. A football match between the Afangaweka Juniors and the Utiki Juniors was played on Saturday, resulting in a win for Mangaweka by 22 points to nil. Mr. M. Byrnes has returned from Te Horo. Mrs. Pearson (Roadside) left for Palmerston North yesterday. There was a good attendance at the golf links on Saturday. A flag match was played, eight competing. I. Dickson won with a gross score of 110, and D. Johnston was runner up.
