MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. [ From the “ Chronicle’s ” Special Correspondent. ] The annual meeting of the Aliniature Rifle Club was held in the Argyle Hall on Thursday night. Present, Air R. A. Gordon (chair), Afessrs J. O’Leary, A. I. Coleman, A. Brant, A. W. Porter, A. Cook and E. J. Hurley (secretary). The balance-sheet showing receipts £43 14s 9d, expenditure £24 10s, and balance in hand £l9 4s 9d was read and adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Air E. J. Powell (patron), Air T. Brunton (president); with the exception that Mr Finn takes the place of Air E. Woods (left district) the vice-presidents were re-elect-ed on bloc; Mr E. J. Hurley (hon. secretary), Mr A. Brant (range officer), Mr R. A. Gordon (captain), ATr A. Brant (vice-captain); committee: Alessrs D. Connell, A. Dalziell, J. O’Leary, A. 1. Coleman and A. W. Porter; handicapper, ATr G. Startford. It was left in the hands of the president and hon. secretary to procure a medal to be presented to last season’s McLean Cup winner, ATr A. Brant. It was decided that ammunition for all club competitions be free and that the charge be at the rate for 10 shots for 6d in all practice and sweepstake shoots. CROQUET CLUB. The annual* general meeting of the Croquet Club was held in the paviilon on Thursday night. Airs A. G. Simpson presided over a good attendance. The balance-sheet, showing a credit balance of £BO 19s 3d, was read and adopted. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Airs A. G. Simpson (president), committee, Alesdanies Ellis, Abel, Brock, Watt and Afiss McLean; Airs S. A. R. Mair (secretary); assistant secretary, Mrs J. Higgins; sports qommittee, Alesdames Mcßae, Stratford, Annis, Wottcn and Bowick; green committee: Alesdames W. Wilson, Wotten and Bowick; entertainment committee: Mesdames Mcßae, Green, and Yilverton; GENERAL NEWS. A kitchen party was given by Mrs G. Stratford to Miss Alolly Griffen in honour of her approaching marriage to Mr DaVe Wilson. There were numbers of friends present and numerous useful presents were received.
