MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING. [ From the ” Chronicle’s ** Special Correspondent. ] The Bulls Miniature Rifle Club hold its weekly shoot on Tuesday evening, the best score recorded being by Chas. Broughton, with a 70 and a 68, D. Lundy firing a 67 and a 70. The following are the detailed scores—

The first match in the McKelvie Cup competition will bo fired against R.S.A. at Palmerston North on Thursday, May 26. PERSONAL. Alaster Geoffry Ellery, a son ot Air and Mrs W. J. Ellery, “Woodend,” Bulls, underwent an operation in the Wanganui Hospital yesterday when an eye had to be removed. Sympathy will be felt for the little sufferer and his relatives and friends. The accident happened quite simply. As he was running down a hill he ran into a twig of a tree and though steps were taken quickly to have the eye attended to, it was too badly torn to be saved.

RUGBY Great interest is being taken in today’s senior game, Rata meeting Bulls at Bulls, with play commencing at 3 p.m. The Bulls team will be selected from the following:—/Westwood, Chambers, Harris, Wereta (2), Ellery, Homes. Richardson, P. Broughton, Green (2). Hakaria, McKenzie, Whisker, Urn, Dwyer and, l Hardy. Bulls thirds to play Marton at Marton to-day at 1.30 p.m. will be selected from the following:—Beran, Ellery, Campion, Keats, Lunn, Cooper, Ingram, Langdon, Shurston (3), Guy, Kenny, Torrey, Griffin, Carter and Stewart.
