GAVE MUCH TO CHARITY
ARGENTINE’S RICHEST WOMAN. South America’s richest woman, Miss Victoria Aguirre, has died in Buenos Aires. She was one of the most remarkable personalities in the Argentine. Despite her immense wealth, she wore neither wonderful jewels, nor exquisite clothes, but always dressed quietly in black. Aloro than half of her fortune of many millions was devoted to founding hospitals and welfare centres for women. Her only hobby was the collection of ran' manuscripts dealing with the conversion of the Indians in lhe seventeenth century. When she vsited England a year ago, she occupied a luxurious suite in a London hotel, and paid many visits to the London slums.
