GOLD-MINING
THE MAJESTIC COMPANY. (Special to “Chronicle.”) AUCKLAND, May 19. The mine manager’s report on the Majestic Mine is as follows: During the fortnight ending May 14 the main low level has been extended 32 feet through highly mineralised country, making a total distance of 2386 feet southward. A development is just taking place in the present face where a solid body of quartz is making from the footwall, at right angles. The next few feet of driving will give some indication as to whether this is a separate body, or part of the United Reef system. The country enclosing the reef system is of a very favourable character and the conditions, generally, encourage the belief that the payable zone is being approached. The low level is now at a point 100 feet southward of the extreme northern face of the level overhead.
