It was thought that the blacks would over-run the hods in the second spell when playing down-hill and they certainly had most of the play for the first fifteen minutes, a free relieving tho pressure for reds. After about twenty minutes had gone the red backs got going and performed a welt concerted run, Simpson scoring a lovely try. He failed to convert. Hunterville 6, Bulls 3. With about fifteen minutes to go Timmins secured from a scrum on rods’ goal line and secured a try. but failed to add the major points with his kick. The whistle sounded with the ball in mid-field and the scores six all. Mr Liddicoat was referee. Third Grade. The Hunterville thirds defeated Rata thirds by 9 points (two tries and a penalty goal) to 8 (two tries, one converted). The win should, do the Hunterville thirds a lot of good. RATA RIFLE CLUE The Rata Rifle Club hold a shoot on Saturday, scores to count in the open cup competition.
