She added: “I was prowling in the Salvation Army barracks on a Sunday morning and got talking to the majoi about the Army’s work. He said t’|t he had great difficulty in getting a Fife partner to assist him in the Army work. I had the greatest difficulty in assuring him that I was not qualified for tho position, having a husband and family. I offered to introduce my husband, but I never saw the major any more.”
