Bulls Bulls won the toss and Kotahitanga kicked off against the sun, and for the first few minutes had the local team hard pressed, but the black forwards ; carried the ball up field, and at haJfway Green took the kick, from an inIfringement, the ball just dropping 'under the bar. Soon afterwards Fitches 'was caught offside, and L. Green had i an easy kick, but failed. The combined 'team then moved up-field again, and jUru was penalised for holding too long, |G. Haitana kicking a good goal, placing Kotahitanga in front by three points. Westwood led the Bulls forwards up to the visitors, but poor handling by the black backs let Kotahitanga up again, and the spell ended with a meelee on the Bulls line. Kotahitanga 3, Bulls 0. The second spell opened with a forward rush by the blacks, and, following up a “spec,” C. Ellery dived over near the posts. Bulls were given a “norush” kick, but it was ruled out by Timmins placing his own ball. The combined team carried play up the ground and through mishandling by the Bulls backs, Tate got over under the posts, G. Haitana having no difficulty in converting. Kotahitanga 8, Bulls 3. Kotahitanga pressed again but McKenzie saved, and made a good opening, Uru securing and appeared to score a try, but the referee was not on the spot to award it. L. Green led a rush again, and a visiting back held on too long, Timmins succeeding with a good penalty kick. Kotahitanga 8 Bulls G. There was no further score. Mr T. Potaka was referee. Third Grade Games Rata were much weightier than the Bulls lads they played, and won by 8 points to 0, Skia and Richards scoring tries, and T. Potaka converting one. MALE OR FEMALE ROLES—WHO CARES.
