A BLUE ROOM
PRINCESS BETTY’S NURSERY PLAYS WITH UNCLE’S TOYS. Toys with which the Prince of Wales played in his babyhood arc in the nur sery at Buckingham Palace, which the infant Princess Elizabeth, daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, is to occupy. The nursery itself is decorated in blue, one of the favourite colours of the Duchess of York, and is understood to have been a room belonging to Prince George, who has moved to the apartments used by the Duke of York when a bachelor. The little Princess was among the many babies who revelled in yesterday’s sunshine in Hyde Park. She has begun to take a lively interest in her surroundings and to make her first efforts to talk. So far her “vocabulary” is very slight, but it seems that dogs and horses are of great interest and they are usually greeted on sight by many “coos.” A special favourite is the golden Labrador dog of the Duchess.
