BURN CUP EAST MEETS WEST Yesterday afternoon the Wanganui East Club defended the Hurn Cup against Wanganui West. The game opened fairly even, the tea interval being taken after the 13th head when Wanganui East were one up on the board. On resuming the holders did all the scoring except on the last head, when Wanganui West got 3. This win makes the third time in succession Wanganui East have successfully defended the cup. Scores:— Hutchins, Wakelin, H. G. Horsley, Scrivener 24 v. Wilson, Howe, Bidlake, McGorrey 14. As there will be no Nixon Cup match next Saturday Wanganui East players are asked to play their club pairs and singles.
