BOXING
NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL AN UNLICENSED PROFESSIONAL. WELLINGTON, Feb. 16. The New Zealand Boxing Council, on the report that Leckio (Otago professional) had taken part in two contests without having obtained a license, decided to point out to the associations that they were liable to a fine if they engaged professionals who had not been licensed. It was ruled that Hferry Casey was residentially qualified and eligible to compete in the New Zealand championships. The International Federation notified the admittance of the Now Zefeland Association. This means that the New Zealand Association will be the only body recognised by the affiliated nations as controlling boxing in this country.
