WANGANUI CLUB PLAYERS CHOSEN The following players have been selected to represent the Wanganui Club in the A, B, and C grade competitions: — A grade: —Miss Calver, Mrs Richardson, Mrs Barkman, Mrs Bogle, Messrs Biarkman (captain), J. Powdrell, Pownall and Christie. Emergencies:—N. B. Bain and Miss Shaw. B grJ^de: —Miss Newcombe (captain), Mrs Earle, Miss Lance, Miss E. Murray; Messrs Moulder (c-aptiain), Vanee, Rout and Hay Campbell; Emergencies: —Messrs Howie and Robertson and Mrs Rout. C grade:—Miss Ziesler, Miss Izard, Miss Swan and Mrs Pettigrew; Messrs Quince (captiain), Bourne, Beattie, and Meuli; emergencies:—Messrs McLean, Hutton, Mullins and Cooke; Misses Franklin, Cowper, M. McCormick and Blyth. The members of the B and C grade teams are requested to put in as much practice during the next fortnight.

ST. JOHN’S CLUB JOTTINGS OF INTEREST Now that fell the holidays are over, ■ members of the St. John’s Club are i attending more frequently in the early I mornings, evenings and Saturday afterj noons. The club successfully stalled off a challenge for the C grade competition from the Wfenganui East Club on Saturday last and this Saturday they will meet the Wanganui Club for the A grade cup, a challenge having been put in by the latter. The mfetch will take place at the St. John’s Club but the courts will also be reserved for general play. Members are requested to play their I next rounds in the handicap championi ship events otherwise the committee will be compelled to scratch the plfeyers in default. Members are requesteed to assist the match committee in this important matter a.s it is the encouragement of matches thlat helps to make or mar a club. Players are asked to make a special effort this week to arrange a time with their opponents for their matches. The six new courts that are being put down in grass are now looking in fine order and should be ready to play on next season.
