WAIMARINO COUNTY COUNCIL The monthly meeting of the Waimarino County Council was held in the County Chambers Hast Saturday, there being present Councillors A. B. Harris (chairman), C. H. Ball, C. L. Sinnott, C. B. Solly, J. Morton, T. E. McLean and J. A. Oliver. A deputation representing the Rangitikei County Council waited upon the Council in reference to metalling the portion of road between Waiuruha road junction and Waiouru. After th? matter had been discussed, it was decided that Cr A. B. Harris represent the Waimarino County i n la joint deputation with the Rangitikei County Council to wait upon the Highway Board and bring the matter before them. The State Forestry Department advised that “fifths’’ royalties, etc., on 'Sttite Forest and Provisional State forests in the Waimarino County amounting to £485 4s 6d were available. H. Bowater’s tender for 600 dogcollars at 8d each was accepted. The tender of A. Snooks for metalling the Afangaturuturu Road at 9s per cubic yard was accepted. The Council agreed to set aside the sum of £5 15s per annum for the maintenance of the AlUngaturuturu Road when the metalling of the road has been completed. Permission was given to Air R. A. Bell to erect a fence on the Pipiriki Road fronting his section. Authority was given to raise a special loan of £2OOO for trimming, forming. culverting land metalling the Alakino Road. The treasurer’s statement of accounts amounting to £235.1 5s lid was passed for payment. The engineer’s report, dealing with routine work of the month, was adopted.
