SIR HENRY BRETT’S ESTATE ! PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS BENEFIT I (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 15. I The executors in the estate of Sir ' Henry Brett announce that he made tb e following charitable bequests:—Church ■, of England Orphans ’ Home, Papatoetoe, £1000; Jubilee Institute for the Blind, £1000; Central Fund, Diocese of Auckland, £500; Salvation Army, £500; Children’s Home (Richmond Road), St. Mary’s Home (Otahuhn), Diocesan Pension Board, Widows’ and Orphans’ Fund of the Diocese of Auckland, Leslie Presbyterian Orphanage, Alethodist Orphtanage (Mt. Albert), Auckland Cricket Association, each £400; Girls’ Friendly Society, Auckland Choral Society, each £250; Order of the Good Shepherd, Veterans’ Home (Epsom), Society for th e Protection of Women and Children, Knox Home for Incurables, Ladies’ Benevolent Society, Auckland Plunket Society, St. Peter’s Anglican Church (Takapuna), Auckland Horticultural Society, each £200; Missions to Seamen (Auckland), £150; j St. John Ambulance, Royal Male j Choir, Bohemian Orchestra, Auckland i Typographical Association, Auckland (Sailors’ Home, Watersiders’ Union Band fund, each £lOO. Added to the labove are one or two personal bequests which bring the total amount left to philanthropic objects to £9350. Eighteen old employees of the firm have been left bequests totalling £4300, in addition to which every employee of the “Star” for 30 years continuously benefits. There are also bequests to employees the private residence at Lake Taklapuna and legacies to friends in Auckland and relatives in Canada and England. The residue of the estate is divided amongst the sons, daughters, and grandchildren.
