HEAVY DAMAGES
SEQUEL TO COLLISION [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Feb. 14. The sequel to a collision between a motor waggon and a cycle was a clfeim for £750 general damages and £214 3s 6d special damages in the Supreme Court to-day. Pliaintiff was a cyclist named John Herbert Hobdell, of Te Papapa, who alleged that Daniel Hyde, driver in the employ of R. and W. Hellaby, Ltd., butchers, of Auckland, had negligently driven a waggon which had run down pliaintiff, and the injuries sustained by plaintiff necessitated nine weeks’ treatment in hospital. The jury awarded plaintiff £5OO general damages and £231 18s special damages against R. and W. Hellabv.
