THE FLOWER SHOW [ From the ” Chronicle’s ” Special Correspondent. ] The following were the winners of the points prizes at the recent Alouma-liaki-Waverley Flower Show:—Decorative section, Airs P. H. Fowler; cut flowers, Airs Muldrock; fruit and vegetables, Mrs H. C. Muldrock. VICTIM OF AN ACCIDENT Another of Waverley’s old residents met his death at Alarton last week, when he was knocked down and run over by an engine at a railway crossing. Air Willacy, who was on his way to Taihape to purchase sheep, waited at the crossing for the engine of the express to pass, but did not notice another engine shunting towards the goodshed. When he attempted to cross the rails he was knocked down, the engine going over his body and killing him instantly. The deceased was a highly respected resident of 26 years’ standing. He arrived in New Zealand- 50 years ago from England and settled in Featherston, where he was farming fo r 24 years. In 1900 he disposed of his property in Featherston and acquired another farm in the Waverley district where he resided up till tho time of-his death. Deceased leaves four isons and two daughters. Airs Willacy died some 10 years ago.
