[ From the “ Chronicle's ” Special Correspondent. ] The Annual school picnic was held in Mr T. Mitchell’s paddock last Saturday afternoon, the sit© chosen being all [that could be desired. Mr Mitchell (chairman) was handicapper and provided some very close finishes, in fact the big girls ’ race resulted in a dead heat for the first three, and when they ran off, they finished in line again, so all three were given equal prizes. After the races, afternoon tea was dispensed, and much enjoyed. The thanks of the committee are tendered to all who subscribed to the prize fund both for the annual prize fund and picnic, and also the ladies who provided refreshments. The following iare the results of races:—
Big boys: Robert Wallace 1, Len. Stewart 2. Small boys: John Nagel 1, C. MeCandlish 2. Big girls: Alison Hunter, Margie MeCandlish and Alison MeCandlish dead heat. Smiall girls: Hilda Capper 1, Trixie Wallace 2. Boys three-legged race: Len Stewart and Keith Watson 1. Girls three-legged race: Kathleen Capper and Afaggie Munro 1. Boys sack race: W. Stewart 1, L, Stewart 2. Giris sack race: Nora Munro 1, A. Hunter 2. Big girls consolation: Eilleen Trainor 1, N. Munro 2. Big boys consolation: ’Moss Stewart 1, Cam MeOandlish 2. Thread the needle: Af. Alunro 1, K. Capper 2. Bobs wheelbarrow race: Bob Hunter and Afoss Stewart 1. Hop,step and jump: L. Stewart 1, Bob Hunter 2, K. Capper 3.
