PERSONAL AND GENERAL [ From the “ Chronicle’s ” Special Correspondent. ] Afr B. Hammerton is visiting Mrs J. Graham. Afr W. H. Bailey, Auckland, is visiting his son, Mr L. A. Bailey. Airs Afoyle returned from Auckland last week. Air Mitchell of the Bailway Department has received notice of transfer to the South Island. Air and Mrs A. C. Lane left this weelrfor Plimmerton.
A very successful street stall was held in aid of the Plunket Society on Thursday. Afesdames Af. Guthrie, D. Thompson, J. Lawson were in charge of the stall, and did great trade in produce and home-made cakes. Mrs J. Graham donated a huge cake for the guessing competition which was won by Messrs G. Toms and Moon. The takings for the day amounted to £36 12s, which included donations.
The beautiful weather of late has attracted a number of people to the river, both swimming pools being well patronised.
