WHEAT GROWERS’ APPROVAL. PROTECTIVE TARIFF ADVOCATED [Per Press Association] ASHBURTON, Feb. 3. The Chamber of Commerce Produce Committee sent the following telegram to the Minister of Agriculture: “Wo approve of the Government’s action in endorsing a free market for wheat and respectfully suggest serious consideration of the question of an adequate protection tariff, also the enforcement of the antidumping clauses in reference to flour and offal. In tho interests of the country generally whoat growing should, be made attractive to the growers. ’ ’ Copies of this message were sent to the Canterbury, South Canterbury, and North Otago Chambers.
