ECUADOR AND BRAZIL. WASHINGTON, Nov. 4. Ecuador has broken off relations with Columbia because the latter ratified the boundary treaty between Columbia and Peru. The E< ua lorians protested against the secret character of the treaty, believing that it involved the ceding of Amazon valley lands to Peru, which Columbia had claimed from the earliest times and which claims were recognised so recently as 1905.
